Information Technology Provider MicroTech Opens North Carolina Manufacturing Facility
Pace-Setting Small Business MicroTech Focuses New High-Tech Development Center on Growing Audio-Visual Telecommunications Market

VIENNA, VA, April 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Information Technology provider MicroTech celebrated the opening of a North Carolina-based manufacturing facility last week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the building in Greensboro. The new high-tech 14,500 sq. ft. headquarters for MicroTech's Audio-Visual Telecommunications division will be home to nearly 40 local workers and 10 remote employees at client sites. The specially designed building includes corporate offices, conference rooms, testing laboratories, and installation space for an array of IP-based corporate Audio-Visual solutions.

One of the nation's fastest-growing small businesses, as well as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned organization, MicroTech (www.Microtech.net) provides Information Technology Systems and Services, Strategic Solutions, Product Solutions and Consulting Services — along with Audio-Visual Telecommunications Design and Installation — primarily to the U.S. Federal Government, and city, state, and local agencies - managing over 400,000 users daily.

"With the launch of our Greensboro manufacturing facility, we have entered a new and exciting phase of our corporate path," said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. "Our target customer base is turning more and more towards the use of Video Teleconferencing to slash travel expenses, reach underserved markets, and connect with mobile workers. The new facility dedicated to the development of IP-based Audio-Visual solutions will help us expand and enhance our product line in this growing-in-demand field."

There are many factors contributing to the growth of IP-based Audio-Visual Communications. Healthcare costs are driving the acceptance of Telemedicine. Enrollment in Distance Learning has grown dramatically. Remote Video Arraignment is speeding up the backlog of cases and fighting crime. And Telework alternatives are leading to less-crowded roads and fuel savings.

Along with Tony Jimenez and MicroTech Sr. Vice President of Visual Communications Robert Otto heading the Greensboro office, local dignitaries in attendance who spoke at the ribbon-cutting event included North Carolina Congressman Howard Coble (R - NC, 6th District), Greensboro Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Anderson Groat, and Greensboro Chamber of Commerce President Rob Clapper. The new facility is located at 6909 International Drive, Suite 103, in Greensboro, North Carolina.

In the midst of a nationwide economic downturn that has severely impacted communities like Greensboro, MicroTech has made a firm commitment to the North Carolina area economy. "MicroTech is proud to become an important part of the Greensboro business community," said Jimenez. "And we will continue to make a strong commitment to our Audio-Visual Telecommunications service line, recognizing its growing value and importance in what we have to offer to our customers."
