Raytheon Company is a technology leader that specializes in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world, and provides state-of-the-art electronics, mission systems integration and a broad range of mission support services. With 22 years of professional experience, Mr. Schafer excels in software engineering and the Ada programming language. He is currently responsible for developing embedded software.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Schafer served as a software engineer for 15 years in the U.S. Air Force. After 15 ½ years, he re-entered the civilian workforce with an honorable discharge and final rank of Technical Sergeant. He stays current with the trends in his profession by reading industry-related publications. Mr. Schafer is working to develop software that will be easy to maintain and update, and hopes to, one day, work with underdeveloped countries to assist them with the latest technologies.

Mr. Schafer holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
