Laptop Theft Solution: XTool Laptop Security Tracker locates stolen laptop!
XTool Mobile Security, Inc. a laptop security service provider announced today that it's XTool Computer Tracker assisted the Houston Police Department in Houston, TX in the recovery of a stolen laptop on Tuesday, May 9, 2006.

/Public Sec. and Government News Articles/ - HOUSTON, TX, August 10, 2006 - The stolen laptop had been installed with XTool Computer Tracker, a software based transmitter that once installed forces the laptop to send a signal via Internet or telephone connection. The software provided Officer Alan Monnat of the Houston Police Department, with all the necessary information to locate and recover the stolen laptop.
The recovered laptop belongs to a privately-held strategy-consulting firm with offices throughout the United States and was assigned to a Houston, based employee. The employee's home was broken into and the laptop was stolen on May 5,2006. The employee reported the theft to the Police and XTool Mobile Security, Inc. in order to track the laptop. The laptop began to send signals to the XTool Computer Tracker Monitoring Center the following day on May 6, 2005. XTool Computer Tracker immediately contacted the Houston Police Department and was put in contact with Officer Alan Monnat . "He immediately got started and was able to recover the laptop 4 days later, it is always a pleasure working with professionals like Officer Monnat, they have a passion for fighting crime, and the quick recovery is proof." stated Gregory Martin Gibson, Security Director for XTool Mobile Security, Inc. The stolen laptop moved locations numerous times during the 4 day period before Houston Police recovered it . Each location being diligently tracked by the XTool Computer Tracker. It was later discovered that the laptop passed through many hands before it ended up in the hands of a non-suspecting buyer who purchased the laptop from a stranger. The individual was surprised to receive a visit from the Police and to hear that the laptop he had purchased was stolen. The individual cooperated with the Houston Police Department, but stated he did not know the individual who sold him the laptop.
